Computer Build for Office

The components in the new computer build are as follows. This build was initially complete a year ago, July 2024, and upgraded in August, 2025 with the new video card. The NAS was added in July, 2025, and was upgraded to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The speed is excellent now, allowing for major image manipulation in Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as fast file transfers of RAW photos and more.

This was my 8th computer build since I started playing part time computer guy here at home.

  1. Intel Core i9-14900K Raptor Lake 3.2 GHz Twenty Four core LGA 1700 Processor
  2. ASUS Prime-RTX5070 Ti 16Gb video card, AI enabled for Lightroom. This card replaced an older RTX 4070 Super card, and has made the entire system work much nicer, meaning smoother.
  3. ASUS Z790-Creator ProArt WiFi Intel LGA 1700 ATX Motherboard
  4. Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL30 Dual Channel Memory
  5. ASUS TUF Gaming 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Modular Power Supply
  6. Samsung 990 PRO 1TB V NAND Gen 4 NVMe M.2 Internal SSD
  7. Corsair ICUE H 150i Elite RBG Water Cooler kit
  8. NZXT H9 Flow Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower case

All totaled, including the power supply fan, there are 11 fans in the case. There are two additional Samsung 990 NVMe SSD cards internally, for 3 Terabytes total SSD storage.

Adding a NAS (Network Attached Storage) in a 4-drive configuration with 32 Terabytes, RAID 5, allows for plenty of storage. RAID 5 uses one drive of the four as redundancy and backup, leaving about 24 Terabytes available for files.

The computer is monitored via three Dell monitors, 4K each. The center monitor is a Dell U2723QE, and the flanking monitors are Dell U2718Q. The center monitor is few years newer than the flanks.
