Reservoir Sunset Clouds

Shooting photos in uncompressed RAW provides unlimited data for post processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop with Adobe Camera Raw. Photographs are far from what the eye can see, but can be manipulated to create specific intention. For example, the clouds and sky in this photo.

Sony A1ii, Tamron 50-400 lens, f/22, ISO-200, 1/13 sec. The Tamron doesn’t communicate its focal length with the Sony body. This was shot at 50mm focal length from memory.

These RAW photos have a dimension of 8672×5784 pixels before cropping. That’s well over 8K. The sensor on the camera is 50 megapixels, or 50,000 pixels. These images are captured in a 2×3 aspect ration. If I’m shooting for timelapse video, I change to 16×9 aspect ratio, which is what most TV screens are set to.

Small screens to great injustice to photographs of this nature. A big screen will really show detail that just can’t be seen on tiny hand held screens.
